4th SEERC Conference Istanbul Held in Türkiye
The 4th SEERC Conference was held in Istanbul on 11-12 October 2023, hosted by Türkiye. This conference, which is the 4th of the conferences traditionally organized in the SEERC region, started on October 11, 2023 with 650 participants. 150 speakers, 80 accepted articles and more than 30 companies took part in the conference, which brought together experts, academicians and students in the field of power systems from 25 countries.
Starting with the opening speech of Mr. Zafer Benli, Chair of SEERC, Phillippe Adam, General Secretary of CIGRE and Mr Zafer Demircan, Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Republic of Türkiye, the conferences has lasted two full days. Immediately after the opening speeches, the handover ceremony of the SEERC Chair to Bosnia and Herzegovina was held for 2023-2025 term.
According to the decision of conference reviewers, in 10 sessions 80 papers from 25 different countries are presented in 6 main conference topics including Automation and Control, Electrical Machines and Power Electronics, Electricity Transmission, Electricity Generation, Energy Transition, Distribution Systems and Power Electronics. 50 of them were presented as oral and 30 as poster.
In addition to articles sessions “Women in Energy” Session and “Next Generation Network” Sessions, CIGRE Tutorial were also organized in conference.
Participants followed valuable speakers and interesting topics in the sponsored sessions organized within the scope of the conference that brought together power systems sector representatives in our country. 15 speakers on 10 different titles made presentations in different sessions.
All Articles Are Published as e-Book
All the accepted papers of the conference are published as “4th SEERC Conference Proceeding e-Book”. The book covers 80 papers presented on the conference as oral or poster.
CIGRE Southeastern Region Electricity Overview published as “Term Project”
As a tradition of CIGRE SEERC a term project is prepared by the chair national committee, and CIGRE Türkiye NC has prepared a book which aims to showing current and future of SEERC electricity sector.
Türkiye, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Montenegro, Austria, Greece and Kosovo’s electricity outlooks including generation, consumption and renewable energy were the main parts of the book.
